SAMPLE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Pursuant to provisions made in MCL
15.231 et seq., commonly known as the Michigan "Freedom of Information Act", a
request is hereby made for the following information and materials:
(A) A full and complete copy of the
present Zoning Ordinance in effect at the present time;
(B) A full and complete copy of the
present zoning map in effect at the present time;
(C) A full and complete copy of the
future land use map in effect at the present time;
(D) A full and complete copy of any land
use focus area studies in effect at the present time;
(E) A full and complete copy of any land
use corridor studies in effect at the present time;
(F) A full and complete copy of any
transportation studies and/or plans in effect at the present time;
(G) A full and complete copy of any
utility studies and/or plans in effect at the present time;
(H) A full and complete copy of any and
all utility maps, diagrams, and/or drawings illustrating the current and/or planned
placement of municipal water and/or sewer services provided to Township properties;
(I) A full and complete copy of any
water ordinances in effect at the present time; and,
(J) A full and complete copy of any
sewer ordinances in effect at the present time.
This request is made within the scope
and intent of the definitions found in MCLA 15.232(c) and (e).
A full and proper response to this
request is expected within five (5) business days of the date of this letter, which is
being sent by first class mail, in accord with specific provisions made in MCL 15.235.
This request has been directed to you, pursuant to MCL 15.236, as the Clerk of Fiction
Township.
Before any copies are made and
delivered, within the time frame required, I ask that separate page counts be supplied for
the requested materials, set forth above in this request letter.
